Blue Vigil’s Power Drone Tether available for delivery with key upgrades.
Herndon, VA — (SBWIRE) — 06/07/2018 — Blue Vigil has announced release of their second generation RS1000 drone power tether system. The company’s Drone Power Tether System enables a drone operator to keep their aircraft in hover for unlimited flight durations. The RS1000’s reactive spooling system ensures that the tether cable is never underfoot.
The company has completed development of and is now selling an upgraded RS1000 with an improved and more durable tether, higher power capability and enhanced thermal management. The system will work with most commercial grade drones including the DJI Inspire 1, Inspire 2, and Matrice 200/210. It has 45m of automatically managed cable on the reactive spooling system with options to tether up to 120m. That means one system can be used to power just about any drone with a takeoff weight up to 10kg for an unlimited flight duration.
“In addition to the RS1000 upgrades Blue Vigil has significantly increased our production capability to meet rapidly growing customer demand,” said Todd Stave, Blue Vigil’s CEO. “It is the best value in tether systems in today’s market. It provides the most features, it is the most versatile, and it is priced lower than other tethers on the market.”
The Blue Vigil system is now used by customers on six continents for a wide range of applications. It is made in America. The tether system is designed to allow for quick and easy set up with the customer’s commercially available, off-the-shelf drone. The drone can remain aloft as long as power is conveyed through the tether. The power source can be a generator, household current or battery providing unlimited flight.
