Drones have successfully solidified themselves as the technological gadget of the future. By the end of 2016, it’s estimated there will be 2.5 million drones in the United States. By 2020, that number is expected to triple. With the seamless transportation possibilities, the productivity hikes are endless, and as such, businesses and creative individuals want to get their hands on a drone.
Until recently, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) made registering a drone for commercial use rather difficult. Recently, they opened online registration to commercial users for a price of $5 a drone. Accepting that drones are here to stay, and will only become more popular as the months progress, the FAA wants to include all drone users in the registration process so they are aware of the rules, regulations, and safety measures involved in the process.
Education is key to the development and expansion of any new industry. By including all participants of the fledgling drone industry in the registration process today, the FAA will be able to keep their eyes on the growth and future of drones.
